Tourism in the Bay of Plenty is committed to a sustainable future. Many businesses are working to ensure that our place is one to enjoy for future generations.
To ensure that the region’s best loved natural spots are preserved for visitors for years to come, a Sustainable Tourism Project is underway. The Bay of Plenty Sustainable Tourism Charter was put together in late 2006 and implemented in early 2007. The Sustainable Tourism Project aims to reduce environmental and social impacts while remaining economically viable.
